Christmas Treats
|
Have a European Christmas!
If you happen to be down our way in the lead up the Christmas then a visit to the Torquay Larder is a must!
TORQUAY LARDER is one of our favourites in town, great coffee, the BEST hot chocolates and delicious munchies to match. The shop is full of gourmet indulgences and if you pop into the shop right now they have a fantastic display of European Christmas goodies like chocolate boubles and chocolate Santas. Of course their collection of Australian treats is just as impressive, with all the names you love like Phillippa's, who have a delicious looking Christmas Cake. They have the most beautifully decorated gingerbreads I think I've ever seen! The kids will definitely be fighting over those on the Christmas table this year. Make sure you drop in for a cuppa and have a look for yourselves.

Local's Favourites
|
NightJar, Torquay's first night market
We finally got ourselves down to experience Torquay's very own night market nestled amongst the trees along Spring Creek - and it was fantastic fun!
The evening was perfect, not too hot but warm enough to sit amongst it all evening and listern to the outstanding local music and taste some delicious gourmet food and wine - while the kids danced around and had loads of fun with their mates. I'm super excited that something like this has come together on our SurfCoast. We all love a market, and the vibe with all the visitors over January makes it perfect for a night market gathering over January.
I bought some jewellery and a gorgeous dress, some trinkets for the kids, but there was so much more to see. Had some mouth watering calamari for dinner with home made lemonade... followed by some lovely wines. Bumped into way too many friends which made it so much fun. Can't think of anything I'd rather do on a Thursday night!
If you are here during January on a Thursday night make it a must to drop in and have a look, make some new friends and have a bop to the beat - you can't help it!
WHEN: Every Thursday night in January from 4pm - 10pm
WHERE: Spring Creek Reserve (off Bell Street)
I believe the second market was washed out by the rediculously wet week we had, so I hear along the grape vine that there will be another on the 3rd of Feb to make up for it. For more info check out: www.nightjarmarket.com.au

NighJar Market gathered a big crowd. The Torquay Drumming Workshop got our bodies bopping to the beat!
