If it’s a memorable beachside weekend getaway you’re after, you are spoilt for choice. There are safe beaches for small kids (Cosy Corner, in Torquay), and patrolled surf beaches for family fun (Torquay and Jan Juc). Serious surfers can try their skills at the world famous Bells Beach and Winki Pop . There are also a few great surf breaks a short walk from the holiday rentals.
Just a walk in the other direction is the new and improved Bob Pettit Reserve. Great if you have kids young or old. Theres a new play ground suitable for the young ones and an expansive reserve for the older kids which includes a basketball ring, skate ramp, footy field, cricket pitch and tennis courts.

How to get there
From Melbourne, head towards Geelong on the Princes Highway (M1). Once in Geelong, turn left onto the Surf Coast Highway (B100), following the signs to Torquay. Drive through Torquay – past the surf shops and through the large roundabout – towards Jan Juc. Turn left onto Duffields Road, then right at the bottom roundabout onto Sunset Strip. Then left again at Domain Road and the guest houses are second on the left.
